Dr. Christopher Tobe
Dr. Tobe grew up in Cherry Hill, NJ just over the bridge from Philadelphia. As a child, he took particular interest in pets and looked up to his family veterinarian. Making sure to take excellent care of the stray cats, dogs, his pet ferret or occasional turtle that he came across was priority. This included regular trips to the veterinarian.
After earning his bachelor’s of arts in philosophy at the University of Vermont, he spent 2 years living in Lake Tahoe, California where he taught skiing. Dr. Tobe went on to work in a laboratory at the University of California, Davis where he investigated a tick borne disease that affected cattle in the foothills of California. He then moved to Louisiana where he received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from LSU in 2006.
After graduating he did a 1 year rotating internship at a large specialty center called Ocean State Veterinary Specialists in Rhode Island, where he got specialized training in internal medicine, surgery, radiology, dermatology, ophthalmology, oncology and emergency medicine.
Upon completion of his internship, he moved the Phoenix area where he worked as an emergency veterinarian until 2014 before settling into a general practice position at Fountain Hills Veterinary Hospital.
Dr. Tobe recognizes that our pets are a part of our family and play such an important role in our lives. He believes that each one our pets is unique and requires individual care. Every case is unique and sometimes challenging which is the best part of the job.
When not at the hospital, he enjoys his home life with his wife Denise, his 3 step daughters, 3 cats and 4 dogs (small, medium, large and extra large). Diversity is the key to life. He is just glad though that there are at least 2 male dogs to balance out the estrogen in the home!
Lisa Kernaghan, CVT VTS (ECC)
Ginna Moomey CVT
Ginna graduated from Bel-Rea Institute with a degree in Veterinary Technology in 2000. She worked in a general practice for 5 years, and then moved to Oregon in 2005 were she went to work in an emergency practice. She moved back to Arizona but continued to work in emergency medicine for a total of 9 years. She joined us here in 2015 and we are glad she is part of the team! She has two dogs, Boo and Willie and two horses Sis and Music.
Ed- Kennel Manager
Ed has been the kennel manager here at Fountain Hills Veterinary Hospital since 2005. He left a 30+ year career in the automotive industry to come and be a part of the team here. He loves his job, and the interaction he has with the animals. In the past he has volunteered at Liberty Wildlife in Scottsdale working with native birds and raptors. His interests include birding and bird photography, fishing and rock hounding. He also enjoys state history and sightseeing around Arizona. He looks forward to meeting you and your pets!
